Administrative Core
The Administrative Core of the Massachusetts ADRC embodies the scientific leadership, managerial skills and fiscal capabilities required to administer this multi-institutional research center. Dr. John H. Growdon has directed the Administrative Core since its inception in 1984. On April 1, 2006, Dr. Bradley T. Hyman became the Director of the Massachusetts ADRC and leader of its Administrative Core.
Along with Dr. Hyman, an Executive Committee is responsible for the general operation of the ADRC. This committee monitors progress in the five-year major research and the annual pilot research projects.
A Review Advisory Committee has also been established to review new research proposals submitted to the Center and to evaluate the productivity of projects that have been funded.
A Financial Administrative Committee overseas the financial aspects of the ADRC. This committee ensures responsible financial accounting and equitable distribution of funds as guided by specific core and research budgets. Finally, an External Scientific Advisory Board consisting of distinguished researchers and scientists has also been an integral part of the ADRC since its inception.
