Education and Information Transfer Core
The Education and Information Transfer Core builds upon a successful collaboration between the Massachusetts ADRC, the Harvard Division on Aging, and the Institute for Aging Research at the Hebrew SeniorLife in Boston. The goals of the Core are threefold:
-To enhance professional education of physicians and nurses in the diagnosis, management and investigation of AD;
-To increase the level of knowledge of non-professional caregivers about the manifestations and management of AD;
-To continue the Memory and Aging Project that collects brains for post-mortem examinations from cognitively normal elderly individuals residing at the Hebrew SeniorLife.New projects in areas of education and information dissemination about AD to the Chinese-speaking and the Vietnamese-speaking populations of greater Boston have been initiated.
Additionally, protocols for psychoeducation interventional studies that are designed to improve confidence and lessen feelings of stress among individuals providing care for AD patients living in the community have also been implemented.
