Embodied Caregiving: Transforming the Culture of Care for People with Dementia through Movement Therapy

Tue, 02/18/2020

The Dementia Care Collaborative hosts Donna Newman-Bluestein, MEd, BC-DMT, LMHC, as she presents “Embodied Caregiving: Transforming the Culture of Care for People with Dementia through Movement Therapy.”

How do we convey acceptance, caring and genuine interest to people whose verbal skills are diminished so that they feel safe and willing to cooprate?  Through video and a lecture demonstration, Donna's program will offer a brief overview at the many ways we express ourselves through movement so that people with dementia will experience genuine connection and pleasure, rather than isolation, loneliness and abandonment.

Refreshments will be available at 5pm and the talk will be from 5:30pm - 7pm. See attached flyer for details!
