Hospitals continue to encourage healthy individuals to donate blood and platelets during COVID-19. Donations are crucial for keeping the blood supply strong and sustainable. Donating blood is considered an essential activity under the Governor’s stay at home order. Individuals can make an appointment with the Red Cross, which supplies blood to hospitals throughout the state or can contribute directly at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Brigham Health is continuing its work to expand access to those communities most in need of testing. Starting Monday, May 4, we will offer COVID-19 testing for Mission Hill and Roxbury residents who are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19. In addition to testing, we will be performing Social Determinants of Health screenings, and educational resources will be available at the site related to food, housing and safety.
Location: Outside of the Tobin Community Center, 1481 Tremont Street, Boston, MA
- The temporary testing site will open Monday, May 4, at 9 a.m., and will close on Saturday, May 9, at 5 p.m.
- COVID-19 testing will be available for Mission Hill and Roxbury residents on a first-come, first-serve basis. No appointment is necessary.
- In order for patients to eligible for testing, they will need to meet specific criteria. More information is available here.
- Residents do not need to be Brigham patients, do not need health insurance and will not be asked about their immigration status.
