Welcome

Welcome to the ‘virtual home’ of the Massachusetts Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center! We are located on the beautiful campus of the world-renowned Massachusetts General Hospital in historic Boston. The hospital was founded in 1811, and is the third oldest general hospital (see attached documents) in the United States.

As a P30 research center funded by the United States Department of Health and Human Services, the Massachusetts Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center welcome you to learn more about the extensive research, training and outreach programs that are offered, and we hope that you will join us in our efforts to discover effective treatments and an eventual cure for Alzheimer’s disease.

As an introduction, we invite you to view a brief, animated video (with music by Rudy Tanzi, PhD, our Research Education Component Co-Director) on the effects of Alzheimer’s disease on the brain. You may also wish to check out the informative short films at www.aboutalz.org for more information on this devastating disease.
